If we start the Patriot party as an outside, third-party and run candidates in the general, we will split the vote and lose every election to the Dems until one of the parties on the right dies out.
Just look at third parties right now - why is it that the Republicans are the ones that fight for ballot access for the Green Party, why is that the Democrats are the ones that fight for ballot access for the Libertarian Party?
If the Patriot party is the one that ultimately prevails, that could take decades.
We need to be smart about this. Primary them, take over the existing party, don't totally give up power to the Dems during the process.
If we lose the primary, we can run someone in the general and nuke it, but don't just take the suicide option first.
