Never shot a Barrett sadly, maybe someday. I’m with you on a good 700 though, and actually have a pretty decent one myself, 26” varmint SPS with a Bell & Carlson stock, Timney trigger, and Nightforce 5-25x. Has a few other little bells and whistles too but she’s a great shooter.
Go find a Barrett and a range right now... your life will change forever... trust me :D
You seem to have quite a nice 700... mine's an SPS in .308 with the magpul magazine conversion, timney calvin elite, and a leupold mark 8 3.5-25x. I'm planning to get another one :D
Trust me I’d love to, but I’d have to drive down to Vegas if I wanted to shoot a Barrett. No other range in the area would have something like that available for public use, and sadly I have too many other financial priorities right now than to drop $8K on one of my own. I go to Reno/Vegas at least a few times a year though so maybe next time we’ll go find a spot that has some full autos and maybe a Barrett too. Someday...
Vegas is not really a good option as they're a massive ripoff.. a friend of mine went there and said they're charging around 100 bucks just for shooting 4 rounds on the Barrett... there must be a range somewhere at least surrounding your state where you can get the public use .50 at normal prices... And yes, obviously with other financial priorities, purchasing it doesn't make sense... for now lol :D If not, at least a visit to TX would do, or FL... :D
