China is a long ball player. If you think their people aren’t 100% integrated into every facet of Taiwan, you’re crazy. China steals OUR most high level secrets. I’m sure they’re more than capable of checking their own pantry.
Nope. The largest and most advanced semiconductor foundry in the world is in Taiwan. Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing is the MOST important company on the planet.
Yes. In the digital age, semiconductors are the most important commodity on the planet. Almost every cpu and gpu are manufactured at taiwan semiconductor. Every single one of apples iPhones and macs uses a cpu manufactured from TSM, everyone of AMDs cpus and gpus are made there, all of nvidias gpus are made there. Almost every single new car on the planet has a computer chip in it that was made at tsm. All the most sophisticated electronics in the world use a chip made at tsm. Only two companies on the planet can manufacture 5nm and smaller silicon, tsm and Samsung and tsm has the lions share of the market. If China took Taiwan there would be a global semiconductor shortage. No new cell phones, computers or cars. Ford, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes etc just halted production on a number of models because there is a global semiconductor shortage and that is with tsm operating at full capacity. Without tsm hundreds of companies and industries would grind to a halt. If China took control of tsm their military would surpass ours overnight. Their fighter jets, missile defense systems, satellites and radars would all eclipse ours as they would then have the most advanced and energy efficient computer chips. So no, steel is not more important than this company. Wars will be fought over it. Hundreds of companies can make steel, only one company can make 3nm computer chips
What powers that factory? What is the factory made out of? The products these chips go into, what materials comprise them?
Of course chips are important. But NONE of it would be possible without oil and steel.
Oil and steel can be made without computer chips.
Can computer chips be made without oil and steel?
You’re selling American ingenuity short. They may have the most sophisticated fab in the world at the moment but why? Labor costs? Likely. Regulations? Without a doubt.
If the supply was turned off yes there would be some pain while we caught up, but without a doubt a new fab with new engineers would emerge if it was crucial to our success at that moment.
If we don't start doing it at home we are screwed anyway.

AMERICA is where good technology is engineered and manufactured. You let China take that and we’re screwed. FIFY

The SINGLE most important company on the planet? Don’t think so. Nothing trumps oil and steel (except food production).

Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia and us vs Chy-na and Europe?
Too late now. Joe will turn his back when they storm the island.
Military don't trust China! China is asshoe!
I believe they already have it
