Not only are billionaires like Warren Buffet (railroads) going to profit tremendously, but the environment will be tremendously impacted by the use of rail and truck to distribute oil. Further, this industry adds trillions of dollars into America's pocket across several states, especially middle class oil workers. Not to mention, oil is used for all industry, in addition to plastics. The pipelines keep money lower on the totem pole.

That doesn't mean the oil won't get sold and burned. It just means that China is now the only customer of Canadian oil sands.
