Ironically, I'm typing this from a smartphone but my point stands: PC culture (and its proliferation through 24/7/365 information dissemination and overload thanks to social media) were the catalysts to our current clown world.
Even as recently as the mid-late 00s people could take a fucking joke...and everyone wasn't sectioned off into their little identity corners of perpetual offense and victimhood. Thankfully, it's also given rise to independent media. Lord knows we need it to expose truth and provide a voice of reason.
I've been consuming almost all my entertainment from 15-30 years ago. In my younger years I never understood why people listened to the "oldies" or watched classic TV and movies. Now I do.
How nice it was to see a show without a race baiting plot, or a trans hero (and/or victim). Now even the most innocuous thing is politicized and has an agenda.
Take me back...if I had a time machine to go back and undo the invention of the smartphone, I would.
I watched the Chappelle Show the other day and thought how I don't think any network would support a show like that today. No one can take a joke anymore
