They can have a show trial all they want, but it will never have the force of law. Not even SCOTUS can deny that.
Words are cheap and we should know better than to trust whatever Roberts says. Even if he’s sincere about not wishing to preside over a “show trial”, a lot can happen between now and when the articles are sent to the Senate that could convince him this won’t be one.
