So I've heard two things. The federal minimum wage is going to be raised to 15 dollars an hour and that the minimum wage for federal employees is going to be raised to 15 an hour. Which is it? Also, anyone got any good books/YouTube channels to recommend for gardening fruits and vegetables? I have feeling im gonna need to learn it.

I think Biden's only signed an executive order requesting some alphabet agency to look into increasing it to $15.
I imagine if it is somewhat logical, it will be a stepped plan, as many businesses will just auto close if they jetted from $7.25 to $15, others will just adjust their prices to double or more of what they charged before and of those most will die out that way but some may survive.
For the gardening, I recommend you learn Permaculture, in the long-term, it's the way to go. For YouTube, there's so much great content. Justin Rhodes is fabulous, as is GardenGuy. It also depends on your zone and how much space you have. Justin Rhodes did a 1 year trip to all 50 states to look at small organic farms, and what he saw was amazing. It gave us a good idea of what we could do and what we wanted to do with our property. All those videos are there. Once you hit a couple key folks, then you'll find more of them. You might try and do a few chickens if you're brave. There are some other great youtube content, Arms Family Homestead, Joel Salatin (famous permaculture guy), On The Grow (for microgreens), The Elliot Homestead, Homesteady (mainly animal focus), Self Sufficient Me (garden focus-funny). This will get you going. Oh, the leader in Permaculture is Geoff Lawton, so you might find his stuff out there too, but he's mostly focused on income with his website. Any questions?
Fuckin nailed it dude, thank you. I dont have a whole lot of room, about 850 sqft that can be just for a garden to help supplement and take some pressure off the ol pocket book. I think what you've recommended will cover that.
Awesome! Yeah, everyone should start small, but it's nice to see some of the folks that have a bit more acreage to have a vision of what might be possible in your future. Good Luck! The microgreens are a great place to start becuase you can start cranking those out FAST, like 10 days! Also, you might be interested in hydroponics, that's a great way to grow inside if you some space.
Look up mhpgardener on YT. He's a based farmer with videos about hydroponics and other gardening related stuff. I was wondering about the $15 thing myself so can't help you there.
Awesome thank you

Gonna be so many undocumented workers, fruit should be comin' out your arse. Also what they said below. Vegetable are not hard to grow, get a seed, plant it and water it, give it nutrients if you want. Pretty sure God been growing some good stuff for a bit with just soil, water, and sun. Jamaicans grow their weed similarly, maybe add some charcoal. Good luck. I guess they will in fact be documented, they probably won't want them jobs no more. Fuck, better grow some fruit.
Another gardener focused youtuber is James Prigioni (new jersey). What state/zone are you in?
Oh yeah, that's tough when you're in those climates. Look at Jim Kovaleski, he farms in Maine. Also, there are some canadian farmers that are amazing, like Curtis Stone Urban Farmer might be just the guy for you, and Jean Martin Fortier. Once you find some folks you wan to follow and be inspired, you may look into learning the square foot gardening method. It's a GREAT way for a new guy to get started. I've been gardening awhile and I really enjoy the SFG method.
