Damn, from the article it sounds like Trump's abandoning the idea of a new party is a purely defensive move, designed to give him more leverage over Senate Republicans in the hope that they won't convict him. It's understandable to be on the defensive under the circumstances, but the enemy is removing this option from Trump and possibly us as well. Defense sucks.
