Disagree, historically all nationalism has been ideological, with racial or ethnic nationalism flowing from the ideology. Racial nationalism is only possible if people believe in the ideology.
You are right about ideology being the first ingredient before ethnicity. A nation has more political basis than an ethnic basis but It is maintained through the ethnic basis. the ethnic basis of a nation becomes more relevant over time than the political basis.
Not so, if the basis is political, all that is required to maintain unity is to indoctrinate the people and purge dissent (I'm not using these words hyperbolically).
Ethnic unity can only be maintained if it is taught and reinforced consistently as mentioned above, but it is not required for unity.
what will you say about the dissolved states of the USSR? They built their Nations around their ethnic groups. Politics wouldn't be enough if two or more groups have cultures that contradict each other.
A lot of African Nations are built around politics or Ideology and they still run into the same problems. Many of these Nations have poor social cohesion.
I never spoke about multiculturalism. I don't believe it works. The only thing that works is assimilation into the established culture and abandoning all prior cultural beliefs.
I think racial nationalism came about because culture is a pretty nebulous concept, which is where most peoples’ disagreements come from. Instead, they misattributed it to skin colour as it was easy to denote. These days, it’s way easier to distinguish fren from foe and it has nothing to do with the colour of their skin, but rather the colours they fly. Red, white and blue are the only ones that matter, and any race can pick those up.
This isn’t white supremacy..... This is American supremacy. There’s a reason why people build boats to come, not to leave. As some foreigner who has lived in many areas of the world, I can’t say I’m biased. You live in a country founded by great ideals. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. It’s what made your country one of the greatest in innovations, one of the first to abolish sIavery, and maybe America isn’t so great right now. But that’s why we’re all working to restore it to its former glory. One setback shouldn’t stop you from making it great again.
Our founding fathers would disagree with your initial statement.there is a reason why the first citizenship act referred to only white moral people.People from other cultures can adopt the normal Anglo American culture but it is quite obnoxious to say that race is just your skin color.there is a reason why blacks from west Africa run faster on average than whites and there is a reason why whites are better swimmers than blacks.
