I mean a union is a settlement between the employee and employer. Since the government doesn’t pay them with their money, the taxpayers are the employer. If it’s legal for the politicians to take that role, then it’s legal for taxpayers to form a union and simply stop paying them.
Laws are not always just. If they are not just, they are not lawful. They want to lean on the words of some crony politician for their sense of judicial prestige, fine by me. Americans, however, should start looking to the 5th. The constitution is just paper, though, if the people it intends to protect ignore it. I advocate nothing more than peace. But there are ways to be peaceful without being passive.

This was even happening before he took office when the liberals were in charge and giving them everything they want. Want to know what happened as a result of the education cuts? Despite the doom and gloom absolutely nothing changed for most people aside from no longer being able to take some minor 0 credit elective in high school. And of course because this is first and foremost an American site I will add that such stupidity occurs in the US of A as well.

Depends on the demographic of kids. I taught for several years in a low income/low performing school and found I had 20 min instructional time left after getting the kids to stay seated, settle down and focus. Granted, I was teaching middle school which can be a cluster of hormones and kids caring more about social interaction than responsibility/education. I did manage to improve their reading and writing scores exponentially (not that I believe the standardized testing system is the end all be all) by taking the limited time I had to teach them Latin and Greek roots and how to use that knowledge to figure out vocabulary words, esp in a multiple choice situation. I also spent a lot of time reading novels (a few times I had to resort to books that may not have been typically appropriate but I had kids with kids in 7-8th grade and had to capture their interest) and going through the processes of making connections to the world, predicting, and making inferences. I really enjoyed teaching the content, but in the end it was the behavior management that did me in. Teachers that were ex military or were naturally intimidating had the most success with behavior. Years later, I started subbing in an affluent suburban high school and that was true babysitting. Take attendance, give assignment, lay out basic expectations like do your work and be respectful and I don’t care if you chill/have phones out while I read a book. Very rarely did anyone need help with the work.
tl:dr teaching is a lot of work and depending on the kids can be a walk in the park or pure hell.

They bully new teachers when hired, saying things like, "Join us or you will get sued over false allegations, and no one will defend you." The whole system is disgusting. (Btw, I now purchase private malpractice insurance instead).
