There are a lot more MAGA reps in the House now than before we started. The lower levels of the party, who have been silent for decades, are exercising their power against the party elite now. It's a start.
Is he? This way he'd support the continuation of the uni-party. The party system in the US is slightly broken btw, which is why there are only 2 relevant parties and making a 3rd party is always some mistake, as it splits votes.
There is no smooth fix to all of the problems the US is facing. There is no peaceful solution. Trump will NEVER offer anything drastic either like refusing to pay taxes. Making a 3rd party with all the momentum available is the LEAST he could do.
The amount of change the system needs in order to be remotely fixed is on a revolutionary level. Anything below that is just throwing mud at swamp monsters.
ALSO: There is a fallacy in the party issue. Who said it wouldn't split the Democrat votes? And who said most people who voted Trump and supported his ideas wouldn't switch to his new party?
Also election systems are broken btw. So that needs to be fixed one way or another.
There is definitely truth to what you are saying but we must dilute the two party system. Its gone on far too long. It will be much more difficult and tons of extra legwork, nonetheless it needs to happen
I agree.. and I also believe it would be much easier to pave the way for a third party if we take control of the Republican party first. But before ANYTHING can happen.. the voter fraud needs fixed. If HR1 passes, well.. it's over.
It's not really about playing nice, I don't think. It's about being even viable to win.
Are we winning with the GOP at all though? Seems to me that even if we win we lose

Bingo. Basic pragmatism should be used when evaluating which path we should commit to.
Trump is correct to not make a 3rd party.

Yes he is. If you want even a 1% chance for him to win in 2024 then he has to win the GOP nomination.
If you want a 100% chance for him to lose then going 3rd party in 2024 is the way to go.
