Just because we couldn't fully takeover the Republican party in one go doesn't mean progress wasn't made. In just four years the House is much more based than it was before. The lower levels of the party are now engaged and actively censuring and campaigning against the upper echelons. The Bush, McCain, and Cheney political families have been badly beaten. It's a start.
Going after RNC leadership and entrenched Senators is definitely doable now in ways it wasn't before. This is a bottom up party and now that the base and lower levels are getting on the same page, we can work to take over leadership positions.
Follow Trump's lead. He's already taken back more ground than anyone else in the last century.
You blame Trump for that? I don't. None of this is new, it's just been fully exposed for the first time. I also don't think it's an insurmountable problem. While it clearly isn't enough to just vote anymore, there are actions we can take to secure our rights.
We have a lot of problems to address, but people are already working on them and they need our support.
