Cell phone == tracking device. Never, never forget that. If you don't want to be tracked, either leave the damned thing at home or pull the battery. Don't trust "turning it off" or "airplane mode", you have no idea whether those really stop the transmission. It ain't gonna transmit shit if it doesn't have a battery. If you can't remove the battery, why the fuck did you buy that phone?
And assume everything you do on the phone is public data, because it most likely is. Unless the app is open source or you wrote it yourself, you have no idea what data it's sending where. No idea.
I find it perversely humorous that for many, many generations Americans railed against the thought of some sort of national ID system, but today think nothing of carrying around an electronic tracker, and even paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for the privilege.
Even if you take the battery off while at a crowded event like what happened on Jan 6th, your face will end up on someone else's social media.... Because people are stupid to post pics online
