If he truly believed in the mission, he would have turned the name over and just separated his name from it. By hoarding the name, claiming to be afraid for his family and then IMMEDIATELY starting up a new site - it's clear that he just split from the mods and wants to do something to capitalize on the domain name.

It’s in that final paragraph. He plans to develop a funding platform. Doesn’t say where money will go specifically, more than to support contributors, not specifically for himself. But that’s why I said it.
