This guy has been one of my closest friends for a decade, we met in college and have been inseparable ever since. He started dating a liberal white woman about 3 years ago, she was always pleasant to me, but definitely a flaming lefty. Anyways fast forward, now they are engaged and I was slated to be a groomsman at the wedding later this year.
Since the election, the fiance has been engaging me about politics on social media. I don't post much political stuff, occasionally gripe about COVID and masks, and she always feels the need to respond with some condescending quip. Fine, I don't care, I'll be civil, you're my best friends' fiance. Well she kept it up, (never once did I start a convo with her) and called the people in the Capitol in DC "terrorists" which I took offense to because I was there and didn't commit any crimes. So I mentioned the reason we have a 2A and since she was born in Canada I shot back, "I know Canada is a second rate country and maybe they don't teach freedom up there." I guess that offended her so much that she made my friend call me and uninvite me to the wedding. Good riddance I guess, too bad it had to be that way.

My parents disowned me and I lost 90% of my friends.

That means you still have 10% friends left who must have the same beliefs as you

That's a win

Shit man, sorry to hear that. Just this betrayal felt like a gut punch. I can't imagine your own parents.

Were those people ever actual friends or family? Sounds like you got forced out of a long held delusion. You're better off now fren.

Exactly. When your family loves you they defend your "different" views. Such as "You know how he is" and they don't disown you for differing beliefs. Plenty of times I disagreed with my kids, shook my head and said "damn" to myself. But never thought of disowning them for a differing point of view.

I lost a 40 yr friendship- I pointed out how Kamala got her start in politics and a friend called ME a whore on my fb page.

Holy sh!t! My husband and relatives are on my fb page and I hope I deleted it before anyone saw it. I can only hope that my former friend reaps the extreme loss from her vote for the whore and the mental patient.

The left is mostly insane and unworthy of American citizenship. IMO.

Anyone who voted for Biden should be declared permanently ineligible to vote
