I used to hang out and stream video games with my friends three nights a week. Now they don't even talk to me. They bought into the propaganda. There is only so much reaching out I can do. They don't respond to my texts, respond to any of my social media posts, or even tune in when I stream alone.

Tough they've never said it, is obvious they were using the lockdowns as an excuse to avoid me. Even when my father died a few months ago, they barely reached out. I'll never be silent or censor myself for fear of how others will react... But still, it does hurt. Literally having no IRL friends is lonely.

The only remaining friends I have are rare acquaintances and people online I've never even met before. The ones with whom we share memes, and the one or two dedicated stream fans, who still ask me where the rest of my crew are.

This is why we have a no politics rule in our gaming crew, I don't care what your political opinions are, how much you love or hate Trump - shut up and play the god damn game.

Irrelevant if they follow you on Facebook. Gonna keep your politics off everything?

Hell yes, especially Facebook. I'd advise not using it at all, it's designed to drive you into a state of depression, and generally I'm not a fan on the platform. But if you must use it, then avoid politics for a happy life, unfollow anybody toxic and enjoy socialising with your friends and family. There are groups specifically for politics if you want to be active, that's the way to go if you feel like you must.

This. Totally had to remove all my liberal friends and family who continued to hammer social media with propaganda. I don't miss them. I have plenty of liberal friends who want to post about the trails they are hiking or updating about their family celebrations. I love having lunch with them without the politics, and as soon as they go into it I bring up: "No talking about religion or politics - I'm here to enjoy time with you." I keep my politics with the people on this forum and other conservative sites.
Don't worry about the friends who aren't along on your journey now - you'll find more who will hang tighter. You just know what to look for now.
