I know, it cuts backward though doesn't it? Science is about objectivity, measurement, and corroboration. Science has experts, but they don't speak ex cathedra. Consensus is reassuring, but scientific truths are necessarily provisional, always capable of being overturned by further research.

So, if even science can become a kind of priesthood, or private oracle that is made to support the power of the state, then, what does that say about religion?
