Chief Justice Roberts (Pontius Pilot) washes his hands of Trump impeachment. This will put Harris in the driver's seat in Senate. How cool <sarcasm> is that. The odds of Trump being found guilty just went way up. The swamp is winning.

It would take 17 Republicans to cross over and vote with Democrats to impeach him. They don’t have those numbers. I would use this impeachment trial to March out all of the voter fraud evidence.
With bitch McConnell claiming Trump responsible, I am no longer convinced that there are not 17 RINOs (swamp rats) in the Senate.
I have thought about that too but that wouldn’t be pertaining to the case at hand. They would not look at it
That's not true, but I can see why some might not be making the link. The basis of the case is that Trump incited an insurrection by using inflammatory speech with regard to winning the election, a stolen election, and evidence of election fraud which they say had no basis. I also believe that there is no limit to how many witnesses may be called in your own defense. I would literally call hundreds of witnesses and draw this out for days and weeks and make them listen to the election fraud, which was a basis for his election rhetoric, thereby proving that his speeches were backed by evidence and thus can't be considered inciteful. We already know that he mentioned to go the capital peacefully, so the case is already open / shut in that regard. The Dems are stupid to be going down this road. They are so full of themselves and can't see their own foolishness. They will spend the time talking about how traumatizing the experience was.
He can't according to the constitution...sorry no trial
The constitution hasn't mattered for a while now
It is my understanding that the Senate constitutionally, has the responsibility and sole determination of impeachments once the House files Articles of Impeachment. The Hose has filed against our real president. The Chief Justice only presides over the impeachment trial of "THE" president and "THE" president is not on trial. Therefore the Senate carries on without him.
Is there a link or something to validate this claim please.
https://newsla.localad.com/2021/01/19/developing-chief-justice-john-roberts-says-he-does-not-want-to-preside-over-second-impeachment-against-president-trump/ This was from a couple days ago. On the news this morning they said he said no. MSM doesn't seem to want to print it. His argument is that constitutionally he is to preside over "THE" president. Trump is not "THE" president.
Appreciate the link, I keep hearing this but confirmation was hard to find.
MSM doesn't want to talk about it. Pretty sure it was Newsmax that I heard it on this morning.
Roberts has bigger fish to fry.
If this goes forward it will blow up in their faces. Let them have their party.
so if roberts is bailing, and they convict, what happens when President Trump takes it to the SCOTUS????? This is another demon B rated movie script.
Maybe the Supreme Court can claim 'no standing' for presiding over an Impeachment trial - at least that'd be consistent....
The Democrats got me. I said Harris would sit as the President of the Senate. Democrats decided to use Leahy instead.
Now the $64,000 question is: Can he sit in that seat, control the direction of the trial AND STILL VOTE AS A SENATOR? Or did the Democrats just reduce their side from 50 to 49? Anybody know?????
Is that how it goes? She’s “fake president of the senate”. President isn’t a justice to run a trial?
Chief Justice is only required for the impeachment/removal of the president of the USA. Trump is no longer president and Biden, although he should be on trial, isn't on trial.
Won. They have won. They have won their rigged game. It is time we separate and play our own game away from the parasites. It appears to be the only way. If Trump can never be President in the USSA, we will make him President of the USA.
Roberts bails... you can smell the FEAR.
IMO if roberts is against it, then we should probably be for it. Trump could potentially dump tons of election fraud evidence at an impeachment trial.
