You're correct, that's the label they would have received today. The difference today is one of organization. You can't really organize online. Every account could be a shill and every communication tracked, honeypot galore. So the option available is person to person, and I theorize that many people have been out of practice with that for so long that it's a hill to climb, and most haven't bothered to start climbing.

The next part is that the revolution was a defensive war, and it was fueled by radical brotherhood between a nation of men with common experiences, beliefs, and goals. That is the most compromised difference today in my opinion. But then again, I do think that across all party lines there is one spot of common ground- a hatred for the federal government.
