China knows a lot of Americans would sell their own families out for a dollar. It’s crappy, and somewhat true. Working on something now, and partners are all talking about how to sell product into China. All production, they want in China. All new production, they want in China. I argue for keeping domestic, but I’m getting outnumbered and numbers aren’t always on my side.
China knows most Americans will sell out their family and country for a few bucks because that's how the CCP maintains power in China. The middle class doesn't like their authoritarian government, but the CCP keeps the shekels flowing so they tolerate genocides and authoritarian overreach because their piggy bank grows every quarter and they get the newest phones.
It all comes at a cost, it is more than just monetary cost.
We should be making China make their own systems because communism isn't compatible with Western Civ, but instead we let China into our systems "compassionately" and when they spoil the whole thing we boot conservatives off the system telling them if you don't like it make your own system.
Logistics costs are fixed from a big time exporter like China so they rigged the system. The ocean vessels are chinese, the boxes holding products are Chinese...hard to leverage partners like Australia or even India when China has setup so many shops.
We cant completely reshore all mfg here and we shouldn’t.
How much unemployment do we have? Including ‘unwilling to work’?? We will need to address our lethargy or we’re just moving the mfg around which can open up new partnerships and advantages but will come with some initial costs...
...although we could fix our tax system to make room for the adaptative change needed for our mfg supply chains....man I miss our real President. I want to send this installed back to manufacturer in China...
