The issue is that if they just let up, they just stop some of their most destructive policies. They allow police and investment to do its job. It would start easing, and it could do it real fast, within 4 years.
I moved out of that shit hole right before the homeless camps EXPLODED. Went from like 2 guys pan handling under 71 on manchaca to a full blown tent city. Along the river on gudalupe is now a tent city too. Downtown is like a post apocalyptic waste land. Fuck everything about the faggots running Austin.
It's worse. Every overpass along 35 from loop to loop, 360 and Mopar are the same. Thousands of tents crammed together, vacant lots all around the city are the same. The air all over Austin stinks of shit and the UT campus is just a freak show.
I used to stop and fish all the local creeks with my kids, but now all the accessible areas are camps just like this. Fucking terrible what they’ve encouraged to take place around Austin.
It's not just leftist "invaders." The development of the Austin area has always been hampered by the leftist nutcases that have dominated politics since the sixties. Interesting to see the history of the leftist "environmentalists" and the havoc they have caused on overall development versus the actual outcome when they win total control.
Failure of governance. Why pay taxes to these fuckers if they won’t stop the druggies from terrorizing the area?
There are solutions, but they all include vigilantism.
My first thought is take a nice hefty truckload of the waste and drop it at politicians houses. The rest of my ideas are not so nice.

The issue is fucking commiefornians came and raised the average living cost by 200% with their stupid Mansions and developments.
Long term, they don't care if you live in a slum as long as they are in their 6k SQ foot house overlooking Lake Travis.
You have the right idea. Pay taxes?
Sales and property.
Commies kill everything they touch
Yup, everything

they'll just cry white flight when
wealthywhite people move somewhere with less of a problem.Well....those fuckers wanted to keep it weird, right?
THE MAYOR ADLER IS A WHIMP...USELESS
Time for the Governor to intervene - many of these "homeless camps" are actually Antifa Encampments
The leaders in my state are so incompetent we have homeless camps popping up on public school grounds and public youth sports parks. It’s insane.
I saw a guy going through trash can for food this weekend. We need new ideas that work. Government just makes it worse.
Austin is shit ho. Was there just a few months ago and it is a shame how far that city has fallen over the past 20 years.
DIS FUCKING GUSTING. How does the saying go... once you go Democrat... good luck?
Is that near Lamar Blvd and Windsor area?

Houston is a warm-weather city - not too many cold nights & given the number of mentally ill people that are given a one-way bus ticket to Houston, I'm surprised the number of homeless isn't larger. This is a good article that explains how Houston is handling homelessness. https://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Society/2019/1118/Houston-we-have-a-solution-How-the-city-curbed-homelessness
Drag rat population has exploded
Elon Musk should pay these homeless tourists
