Seriously, I'd think excessive force ought to be something you can get damages from.

Edit: you live in Florida, where castle doctrine applies. Guy was breaking into your car, and you have video evidence? Dude. Go BIG on a lawsuit; get a proper lawyer, this could be a BIG settlement or punitive judgement against that PD. Heck, you might even get your neighbors in on it, too, as interested parties.

Yup - this, right here.

There's a very solid reason why you were not charged or arraigned. They KNOW they got nothing on you.

Now it's your turn... shitloads of lawyers salivate over open-and-shut shit like this, because 30% of enough-to-retire-on is serious cash.

Excessive force
Unlawful arrest
Wrongful detention
Intentional infliction of emotional distress
Loss of reputation/character
Civil Rights Violations

This type of case is minimum $15 million.

Lawyer pedes, please help this man out. Let's stand together for once. It's a great case to take, anyway. The other side's advantage is their ability to stick together. We're too loose. Unity is what we need right now, and that means on all fronts. Push back legally and make sure they can't separate and bully us alone. Politicize this. Post about this. Everywhere.

He should probably delete this if he goes the lawsuit route.

Lucky he lives in Florida. In most blue states you'd get a felony for this

Depends. Believe it or not, Oregon does have a Castle Doctrine, but there are restrictions.
