Some leftie commented on the environmental impact in front of me and upon politely informing him that the oil is still going to be transported in some way and all non-pipeline methods involve carbon emissions he replied "neat, I don't like talking about this kind of stuff." Kid literally brought up the topic, pretty sure he liked talking about it until he started getting dunked on by facts.

Those are the situations that get me in trouble because I push back on them when they abandon their arguments on it. I don't let it go. I will force it back on them and make them come to terms with it. Discussions then ALWAYS go in one of two ways, either they will try to move the goal posts and change the argument or they will get upset and cry about how mean you are. In either case, the response is the same. Don't let them change the argument and don't give a shit if they get upset you are holding them accountable for their statements.

Reminds me of a Bill Burr bit where he said he’s finally figured out how women argue. If they’re right on the point, they will argue the point. But if you’re right on the point, they attack you and try to get you upset. Then when you lose your cool call them a bitch, they have won the argument.

They "go rogue" when losing. Excellent bit :D
