Starting another party would only dilute votes even more than the libertarian vote already has, paving the way for a Democrat win.

I'm pretty skeptical on starting another party because of that. It's a much better plan to just take over the GOP.

You're missing it. A schism exists within the GOP between the establishment and MAGA. It needs a name so true patriots can push the establishment out. In a few election cycles the patriot party, or whatever you want to call it, will replace the GOP from the inside out. Then the country club blue blooder Republicans will slowly begin to merge with the Dems where we all know they belong.

We have more immediate problems to fix and not solely ones "a few election cycles" from now.

Long run solution, sure. I'm not focusing on the long run and neither should anyone else.

I'm not missing anything more that what you're overlooking.

I dunno about you but my jurisdiction has elections in May... and November... and then it's mid term primaries. We got lots of chances to decide if this is working before we hit a vote that matters.
