Nice but they’re never going to vote for it. Why would they vote to put themselves out of a job.

Need to look into convention of states. Amendments can be passed without involving congress. Only way to make this happen.

I wouldn't trust a convention of states at this point. Not until we get a patriot party or vote out most of the current GOP.

There's too much misinformation, so let me stop you there. Convention of States is safe because you need 34 states to call a convention ABOUT SPECIFIC ISSUES and 38 to ratify.

You will never find 38 state legislatures willing to abolish the Constitution or the bill of rights. And only issues genuinely attractive to both parties can pass.

The only reason conventions haven't succeeded in the past is because Congress sniffed what was coming, did the amendment themselves, and took the credit. This is extremely unlikely for congressional term limits. State legislatures on the other hand will likely enjoy a boost in importance on a popular issue.

I would also approve of an amendment enabling the recall of elected federal officials with reasonable measures.

That sounds great and all, but just like Leahy suddenly being juror and judge over a fake impeachment trial- deep state folks will FIND a way to hijack the end game, or completely subvert it.

They no longer play by the actual rules of the constitution.

I have always been for COS- but now...... seriously? Does anyone think they will not make up their own rules like they’ve done for the past 5 years?

WE must take the state legislatures. One of the most powerful bodies in our republic, but they’ve been completely marginalized.

Any constitutional lawyers look it up to see what it takes?

You can simply add a provision that current legislators are grandfathered in. That way, the people still get what they want, and Congress doesn't have to put themselves out of a job.

This would be the only realistic way of getting this passed, but I would only be onboard if they are grandfathered in as in the current and following term count towards that limit. Not grandfathered in where the term limit is never applied to them.

that is the most swampy way of swapm creatures to retain their own power when the unwashed masses rise up and start selecting their own representatives.

Sure, Ill keep my power just long enough to ensure al those MAGA candidates aren't gonna be able to effect a damn thing.

I guess I didn’t clarify. What I mean is even if they were grandfathered in, why would they vote to remove themselves from power when they can just keep collecting that sweet taxpayer money. Case in point Dianne Feinstein dusty carcass still running and she dang near 90 years old at this point.

Cruz likes to introduce things that have a black man's chance in Ed Buck's office of passing.
