Civilians: your thoughts and opinions are welcome too!

I am getting closer to finally signing up for the military, which is something I tried to do 10 years ago. I went to college, got some jobs, and recently got back in contact with recruiters. I had a waiver approved and am back in the application process. But now, I am having mixed feelings! I 100% want to do this, but I don't know how I feel about serving under the current administration. I am now doubting the integrity of the system. And the fact that the commander-in-chief is literally a brain-dead puppet for radical libs and bows down to the ccp is quite disturbing.

I would appreciate some feedback on the state of things and how, if anything, is going to be different. I just want to hear some thoughts from those who have are in, have been in, or are planning to go in. I would have been so honored to serve under Trump. I will reiterate, I 100% want to do this! It juts feels... different... now. If it makes any difference, I am planning to go into engineering/intelligence/cyber. Although I am also considering the Navy, the Army is most promising now.

TL;DR Was about to join the military then the election got stolen. I still really want to do it, but am now having crazy mixed feelings about what's going on.

Depends what your job is.

I like war, it's fun for me in my jet. But a dude on the ground.... na, wouldn't do it for this regime.

Plus they are making us go through sexual assault training, diversity and inclusion trainings, resiliency trainings seemingly monthly.

Bottom line, if you want all the bullshit and politics of an office job with half the pay, go military.....but, if you like war, the next few years should be fun. I would always regret not doing something, more than doing it and hating it though.

That training is required at every school and job now (at least in CA it has been).

Do you honestly believe we may go to war? I have 0 confidence in biden leading us in war...

Although I understand that no job is safe, I am not planning on going infantry. I understand you are risking your life when you sign that paper. My question is, how will things be different? If they will at all? Should my decision to serve be impacted in any way? Please view my replies to the other comments, that might help explain the thoughts going through my head.

Do you want to be an officer or enlisted?

What job are you looking for?

Do you want an experience or 20 years?

I can help you better if you answer those questions

Officer.

Hoping for cyber.

I'm already pretty old to be going into the military, I'm expecting a longer contract.
