He alluded to all the dangers of improperly exercising our 5th amendment rights, but didn't actually say what those dangers are or how to avoid them. I know we can't just remain silent (even though we supposedly have that right), we have to actually invoke the right. That little gem came out of Salinas v. Texas back in 2013. I believe the suspect in question remained silent, and police used that as direct evidence of guilt, saying "He hesitated when we asked him this question." What other pitfalls are there though?

His whole point of being there was to promote the book he just had published. Would kinda defy the point to just blab out everything that's in it.
