Maybe this is Roberts weak way of saying the entire trial process is fake.

I believe Roberts said that this impeachment seems very "vindictive and petty".

If there's no judge to preside over a trial, that means it's not a trial, by the way. A Senator can't be a judge at the same time. It's called 'conflict of interest'.

Highest court in the land, a true top honor to preside and he’s just not feeling like participating in this case. Maybe he knows it’s unconstitutional? But too entrenched in the swamp to say so? What a tragic man.

That’s not how any of this works. The Constitution says the Chief Justice of the Supremes Court shall preside over the trail in the Senate. Not to mention you can’t impeach a private citizen. This is all meaningless. It’s a LARP.
