People can be agnostic or atheist and still have good morals. Reading through the top few comments, religion is only being divisive in a time we need to be sticking together. Here we are debating religion instead of discussing ways to work together.
Your good morals come from a societal standard. When the standard is set by Christianity then even agnostic and atheists maintain a good image and try to be moral people.
The left, mostly atheist, resetting the rules and turning morality into a “moral Wild West” end up accepting some degenerate that dresses in a furrie suit and literally fucks his dog.
Why I am sperging out like an autist is because atheists say “we don’t need Christianity to be moral!!”
Have enough generations of that and folks who aren’t tied to being answerable to a higher power that wants you to maintain some standards and bam.. you’re in the moral Wild West.
So .. imagine if you will.. being a Christian and watching edgelords shit on you for years and just accepting it. But if someone shits on another religion, those same edgelords defend them.
Imagine.. those people start trending towards all these whacky ways of thinking, for example full term abortion..
Then imagine, some of these spastics realise how far off the deep end these idiots are going, finally wake up and then join the side that has the majority of Christians.
For us.. it’s like .. “yeah thanks.. fucking finally”
So the left is level 10 of “we don’t need Christianity to be good people”
“We don’t need Christianity” is level 1.
Don’t worry, I like level 1-3 atheists. Most of my friends are that. But when you apply your atheist morality, which will eventually lead to “omg stop kink shaming shitlord!” Just realise to us, you are the rot that has infected the left... and now you are here.
Nice work! I guess that guy will never understand that election integrity means nothing if we are fighting to protect a sick society that is just going to corrupt future generations in ways that are way worse than rigged elections.
How intelligent people cannot connect those two dots is beyond me, because it’s empirical and seemingly obvious to me.
This is debatable, and one you’d lose. Our entire set of laws are built on Judeo-Christian values. Remove those values and the laws collapse in on themselves. Remove those values and it becomes easy to make arguments that all sorts of immoral shit is really moral. Just look at the degeneration of the left for an example.
And proves my point. People rather debate religion than do anything proactive to unify and stop the larger issue at hand (election fraud/integrity). You're assisting in the divide and conquer.
May I remind you that this started with an a-religious fellow talking smack? Many of us are tired of having to take that bullshit from the Establishment.
The most moral and honest guy I’ve ever known was an agnostic. He had a love of country and the constitution and went out of his way to help others. While on the other hand the most dishonest, selfish bastards I’ve known was always preaching to others about their sins and shortcomings and inviting them to church.
What's the point of having morals while being an Atheist? The very fact that many atheists have morality should show them there is a God, or creator, because if we are just luck of the draw advanced animals no concept of morality should exist. Increased intelligence does not make someone more moral.
Every atheist should do whatever they can get away with to benefit themselves regardless of morality if they truly believe there is no God, otherwise they aren't living like true atheists because to have morals would be illogical.
What's the point of having morals while being an Atheist?
To use those "morals" selectively, as a tool for manipulating others and/or society. Or that's how I see them using it, most often (if we're referring to the SJW-style of atheist.) I have always found it bizarre that my dishonest drug/alcohol-addled hyper-promiscuous amoral SJW "friends" are so vocally atheist and even highly-motivated to "protest"/interfere with religious causes, very aggressive about censorship/shaming of Conservatives, yet explode in emotionally-incontinent rage at the tiniest imagined "micro-aggression" against the Leftist Agenda.
I've heard this a lot from that crowd, and it makes more sense now that they have exposed themselves further (mentally, we've already seen their naked-in-glitter selfies.) "Their morality," "their truth." It's moral to them, and true to them, and insisting that others pander to them is considered advantageous, therefore they feel intense trauma if someone dares to contradict "their beliefs."
Um . . . I don't believe in God and set my morals up by what I believe is right and wrong, and I believe I am more morally grounded than most people I know, including many who call themselves Christians. Not everyone believes in a higher being and the pre-Teump Republican party turned off a lot of people with their Bible thumping. To say that people who don't have religion don't have moral direction is ignorant and insulting.
I wanted to add that what keeps good people from acting bad is a conscience. My conscience will not allow me to act in a way that is repugnant to my morals.
Republican party turned off a lot of people with their Bible thumping.
I think they turned people off because they are unbelievers who CLAIM to be religious. Much like the Pharisees, their hypocrisy is blatant and palpable.
You will be hard-pressed to find a real Christian in modern day America.
maybe the point of being an athiest isn't to be an asshole. maybe some athiests just don't don't believe in god. why can't athiests just not believe in god but believe in being kind to people? you seem like a gatekeeper for morality. plenty of shitty religious people. i am a good person for my own reward, not to get into 'heaven'
The entire premise of morality is gatekeeping. Morality is inherently exclusionary. And that's a good thing.
If you believe that morality is determined by what you feel, then you actually believe that morality does not exist, since others will inevitably feel differently.
Morality based on feelings and whims is the exact morality that has lead to the SJW left-wing atheist #metoo mob "morality."

But yeah, level 1 atheists are alright.
^ WEW LAD THIS GUY GETS IT ^
Let's debate religion instead of sticking together and fighting for an audit in Maricopa County or election integrity...
No. Let us value our culture and it’s roots AND fight for our culture and way of lifes future.
That’s my sperging out done. Have a good day

In other words THE BIBLE.

I’m flabbergasted by how inane this argument is. Stop talking to me and go prove the fraud if you’re so concerned about not being distracted.
I've made calls to my state legislature, sent emails as well. But more people need to do the same if there's any hope at fixing the actual issues.
May I remind you that this started with an a-religious fellow talking smack? Many of us are tired of having to take that bullshit from the Establishment.
On a post to inform you on how people sow division and confusion to subvert progress. Can you not see the blatant irony?
I know, right? On a post about division and confusion, they show up and start talking smack.

you don't have to believe in god to be a moral person. and just because you believe in god, doesn't make you a moral person.
where do your morals come from specifically?
If you think morals only come from the promise of heaven or the threat of hell then you are lost.
"Do unto others" it's as simple as that.
