To me, it means that being a follower of Christ is to welcome conflict and persecution for your beliefs. Being a Christian is about a lifelong battle against sin and temptation which can come from anything in your life. Commitment to God and following Christ does not always sit well with everyone in your life. Again, these are my beliefs so keep that in mind.

You’re right that not everyone wants to hear it, but have you considered that you might be telling those people just what they need to hear that could eventually lead them to God? There is no better time than right now to be spreading the gospel.

Oh yeah, absolutely we should spread the gospel and live it as best we can. What I meant was that in doing so, many people will be put off by what you say and how you live. Be prepared and continue to spread the Gospel in the face of all the challenges of this world.

Thanks. I agree. Jesus suffered on the cross, so to be a Christian means you will suffer too. Jesus said “The world hates me, and if you love me it will hate you too.”

Absolutely. It's a pretty common theme throughout the Bible. Thanks for asking questions and starting an interesting conversation. I like talking about this stuff without the hostility.

You’re right about the hostility. From the responses I’ve seen to any talk of God, it’s pretty clear there are some bad players on this site. Won’t stop me though.
