Here are some links to local and regional chains that have a decent online presence. They are Main Street in their region. They support their local communities, pride themselves on excellent customer service, and are price competitive with Amazon.

Amazon and BoA are the last two anti American companies I have to get rid of. I'm actually starting to use amazon more these days because all the box stores I go to don't carry the shit I want anymore.
I couldn't find Aquafresh toothpaste in my grocery store the other day. Same store I've been buying it at for years. Aquafresh toothpaste... I was just like wtf
The new Phillips Sonic Toothbrushes the wife and I wanted weren't at Best Buy.
The over the range I wanted wasn't at Home Depot. Guy told me there were 3 available at the other store 15 miles away, drove there, guy said they actually have negative 3 and are back ordered.
This is why online is killing it. I could have saved 2 hours that day, sat on my ass and ordered the microwave online, which is what I ended up doing anyway.
Problem with Amazon is it's such a great service, and you're lying to yourself if you think any different. Another problem is you can't replace amazon with a few sites, 5 sites, maybe not even 20 sites. Look how many sites are linked on this thread just to get up to the quantity of products amazon sells.
But I do thank you for gathering and listing these alternatives. I'll be referencing this post the next time I'm looking to grab something off amazon.
I'll force my wife to do it to and make a game out of how much shit we can avoid buying off amazon.
Thanks for the legwork, pede!
This is the real issue. If I could pop by any store on my way home to get what I need, I always would. But finding things has turned into a scavenger hunt, and folks with careers and responsibilities don't have that kind of time
If you could go to a mom and pop store and buy the exact same product but made in the USA for about the same price, of course everyone would do it! But the convenience of going to a Walmart and having literally every product there is hard to beat. And subscription services from Amazon for meds, groceries, toiletries, etc saves time and money. I have found it takes a chunk of money, time, and effort not to buy anything from China or from Walmart, Amazon, etc. Not saying it isn't worth it, but not everyone may be able to commit to it.
