MIA New Balance 990 V4 user here. Yes, they are very expensive compared to the comparable pair of Chinese made crap (Nike, Addidas, etc.). However, once you hold one in your hand and really examine it, you can see the quality difference in the sticthing, materials used, etc. Not uncommon for most to last at least a couple of years if not more with just simple wipe downs with a magic eraser to keep them fresh looking.
