I have come across plenty of other stories much the same...
Old woman in Chelsea, looks out her back window and see's two men doing over her shed/garage (old house, garage at end of the garden etc)
Phones the police, tells them about it, they reply they have nobody available.
she hangs up, calls back 2 mins later and says there are two men with guns in her shed, all hell breaks loose, 2 vans, two-armed response vehicles, and the chopper within 5 mins.
they catch the buglers etc etc, then the senior officer comes over to the old woman and says "I though you said they were armed?"
She replies "I thought you said you had nobody available?"
That made the local papers but not the nationals though intimidation.
Ha, I heard a very similar story from a friends dad. A guy breaking into his car. He calls the police. Sorry, there’s nobody available. Oh ok, then I’m getting my shotgun and going out there myself. 5 minutes later, shitloads of police turn up.
