(Poland) Yeah, people remember all the oppression and general poverty of those times

All the way back from the end of Second World War (Polish soldiers fighting on the West with allies weren't even allowed to talk about) by NKVD all the way to the 80's and Ministry of Public Security (basically secret state police body)

People maybe weren't starving to death, but "bread lines" and rationing were way too common. Getting meat or anything of remotely higher standard than bread or potatoes was quite the challenge if you haven't any friends on farms. There wasn't any famine per se but it was hard.

The only way we could build all the high density flats was thanks to loan from the West. Which we paid of in 2012. Fucking two decades later.

The only people missing those times were scums from government bodies or secret police fuckers which had enormously high pensions up until few year back when current government cut them almost to minimum.

There's still a fuckton of leftist traitors in Poland too. The remnants of the old system still have roots, and support. Media brainwashing amplifies the problem.
