People here don't want a new part to split conservative voters and guarantee victory to the Dems, that's understandable. But people here are also saying the Dems and Reps are the same party, so why do we care which one wins?

We already know what the Patriot Party could achieve - it would be very similar to UKIP and later the Brexit Party in the UK.

UKIP never won a single seat in Parliament, despite winning 15% of the vote, because the UK has a FPTP system somewhat similar to the US. What UKIP did achieve is scaring the establishment party (the Conservatives) into doing something they didn't necessarily want to do: Promising a referendum on EU membership

Later in the EU elections, the Brexit Party ran away with almost every single UK seat, putting more pressure on the establishment to keep their promises

Both parties also tended to do better in local elections

I see the Patriot Party doing the same thing. They would probably win a fair amount of local council, legislature and House races. They could probably also win a few Congress House seats, maybe even a Senate seat at some point, but in the Presidential elections they would serve as a vote splitter

If the Republican party wanted to keep existing as anything more than a token force, they would have to work with the Patriot Party to pass what they wanted (voter reform at local and Federal levels) and perhaps form an alliance in the House and Senate

The Patriot Party could easily start with 25% of votes, more than UKIP ever got. They would be primed to be king makers, and force the Republican Party to reform through external pressure

Unfortunately the only way I can see this working is if the new third party took from both the MAGA movement and disenfranchised democrats but that's a bridge I don't think can be connected.

Trump already crossed that bridge, it's called the "walk away movement". And I think it would grow even larger if there was a "Trump / Patriot" new party. You wouldn't be asking people to walk away from one treasonous corrupt party just to vote for another one.

Best case scenario you can hope to take 75% of the GOP. Without drawing huge support from either the left or the Independents (way harder to get an Independent to register as anything but) we'd just be cementing the Dems as the defacto majority party.

how do you figure? Trumps real margin of victory was massive and drew from all sides, left, right and center. If he were to start a new party why do you think he wouldn't keep that support?

Both factions of the Uni-party are working for and are owned, totally, by big money.

This is true in all governments including even China.

To ensure they retain control, they are working everything through dialectics.

It's the commonest technique used to steer societies in the direction that the fat controllers desire.

Problem-Reaction-Solution.

The deepstate are given an objective , by their global owners

  • which is their preferred Solution, something they want to achieve.

their role is to create an issue, where previously no issue existed.

Their issue is pushed to force the public to react

They then introduce their "solution", which was always their original objective.

This is why we are always and only offered crap resolutions to bogus problems.

Agree or not, we need to create a party-free future for mankind.

Party loyalty over Constitutional duty is why we are here today.

I worry about splitting the vote but I see your point. I’d like there to be a patriot party simply for the freshness and accessibility. I would get involved. The “old establishment” Republican Party has just started to smell like an old musty country club that needs a renovation. I just can’t get excited about going there.

The MAGA movement is a true organic populous movement. Maybe I’m wrong but I get the feeling that the “old establishment” politician is afraid of the populous. Maybe my terminology is wrong. Maybe my perception is wrong. Trump is real and most politicians are fake.

I support my local GOP entity (Hawley) because he actually gave a shit.

Other than that, I really don't give a shit about the GOP. I didn't before Trump came along and I can do it again after he's gone.

Trump represented my interests. Not the GOP.

Interesting take. I ultimately think the goal and end result of a Patriot party would be the end of the GOP. It may take a few years to accomplish but I think if Trump started a new party it would immediately become much larger in terms of voter base than the GOP. Who cares about splitting the vote because Republicans are worthless anyway. What good is electing a Republican when all they do is allow Dems to advance their agenda? We need a new party to replace them.

If a few MAGA politicians came on board quickly (ex. Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz), it would be an immediate force that would lead others to follow while the Never Trump RINOs would either dwindle away into irrelevancy or join the Dems where they belong.

That being said, I think Trump is gonna wait until after the impeachment trial before he makes a move on that.

One other thing to consider - in the UK MP's can 'cross the floor' - join a different political party at any time

Not sure if this can be done in US, but if it can then MAGA GOP Congress members could immediately join the Patriot Party and give them representation

I don’t see why this couldn’t/shouldn’t be done from inside one or both parties. Similar to what Tea Party did, but don’t let up and don’t cave to media narratives. Primary the hell out of everyone. If you live in Dem area, primary MAGA rep in D ticket. If you live in R or mixed area, primary MAGA rep in R ticket. Patriot Party would be a worm inside both sides of the uniparty. It would take some organizing force (Trump?) to identify which ones were legit, wouldn’t backstab once in. But I think given low turnout in primaries, and difficulty of rigging multiple primaries at once, this approach could be successful
