I was under the impression that there is some evidence of events vaguely corresponding to, and in turn inspiring the wildly stylized account of, Exodus. I know evidence is thin on the ground that far back, some stele or a quote from a king about some folks fucking off, but yea, I believe there is SOME evidence for it.
That said, I'm with you on what the Bible is (in fact, it was a book ON the historicity thereof that mentioned the aforementioned evidence, IIRC Finklestein & Mazar).
