The path to citizenship is a joke...8 years? It’s a carrot. While they are illegal, their status is exploited for cheap labor while paying taxes for benefits they will never get. They’ll further exploit them by allowing voting or counting them in the census for more local government...government treating groups of people differently creates real differences that result in discriminatory behavior.
