Uh this is a tough one. I agree abortion is murder but why would you bring a child into this world that will have severe mental deficiencies and in the end be a burden on society (health care, rehab care, housing, etc). And why add that stress to the parents? Not everyone is equipped (mentally, physically, financially) to take care of a special needs child.
A better focus would be to ban abortions for women that use them as a form of birth control. And take away welfare for these irresponsible women.
Since when has the convenience of one persons life take precedence over another persons life? That same “burden on society” logic has been used over and over again to justify euthanasia, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. One could say “welfare recipients are a burden on society, so why not execute them?”
