I think it’s really easy to misunderstand just how clueless most people are. Some of it’s conditioning, but most of it is just that your average person on the street doesn’t have the time or the interest to really dig into what’s going on with politics.
There’s so much twisted and downright fraudulent information out there (and right-leaning websites do this too) that it’s almost a full time job to dig through it all.
