Write your House Rep. through congress.gov to object to H.R. 1. Feel free to use/edit what I wrote to mine:

I am asking you to vote NO to H.R.1 - For the People Act of 2021 because the bill is unconstitutional. It is breaking Article II Section 1 paragraph 2 of the United States Constitution.

"The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector. "

This obvious and clumsy move by Rep. Jon Sarbanes, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Rep. Zoe Lofgren will only result in a voting system that makes it easier to disenfranchise the law-abiding public and take away State's rights. It's becoming quite clear how important protecting States' rights is in current times.

Further, the Constitutional Authority Statement to make voting laws uses Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 which is NOT about voting, but about TAXES. They are either disingenuous in their grab for more power, or they don't understand the Constitution nearly as well as the American public does.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States
