Family and I planned a family trip to see the Rangers play the RedSox before the pandemic. I tried to make the most out of the weekend. Took the tour of Dealy Plaza (awesome museum), Bowling museum (also cool), and some old gangster casino (Vegas before Vegas) on a hilltop...don't recall the name of it but indeed interesting.

Final stop was the Dallas library. There is a John Dunlap Broadside copy of the Declaration of Independence. The copy comes from the first printing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776. It's one of only two on display I believe. Encased in glass. I read it and stared at it for about 30 min.

Making it up to the 7th floor though to see it broke my heart. Homeless sleeping in all the common areas, trash and needles in the bathrooms. They basically took over the place. You could tell people didn't like it but they just seemed deflated, like there was nothing they could do about it. There were homeless drug addicts sleeping all the way up on the 7th floor.

Anyway, it was an eye opening experience when lefties take over a city. One of our most beloved documents and the only way to get to it is manage your way through homeless drug addicts.
