Seriously, people do change over time. If she changed in a direction that alienates you, then she needed to go. Same as if you changed in a direction that alienated her.
A good relationship (seriously, marriage) requires both parties to stop and consider the other person before making any changes in personality and attitude. Not that you have to remain static, but that you need to see and gauge the other person's reactions and responses before committing to some change or other.
It's just like picking up an outside hobby. For example: is she going to lose her shit in hysterics if you take up skydiving as a full-on hobby (and not just as a one-time thing for the experience of it) ? Then maybe you should consider not doing it as a full-on hobby.
If she didn't consider you before going off into TDS la-la land, then she obviously values her Trump-hating politics more than she values you (which is pretty damned sad, if you think about it.)
