all a third party does is steal votes one way or another.. he's right to go after them.

The only way a 3rd party can be "successful" in our election system is to replace one of the two existing parties (Bull Moose almost did this) or represent such a threat that the 3rd party's main points are picked up by one of the two existing parties (Tea Party was somewhat successful).
