Who are you to say what "good people" - a largely arbitrary definition - can and cannot handle? That reeks of the same God Complex that infects every other major platform.
Addressing the second part of that paragraph, you absolutely should want to be around those types so you can dispute their claims a shine a light on why they're wrong. Shutting down any form of speech serves only to further ignorance, increase the divide between people and strengthen the stances and numbers of those you disagree with.
MeWe has a little clock where that globe is - the clock is an icon next to the time something was posted. Facebook had the little globe in that spot to denote its privacy settings - in this case "public."
