I have seen 3 genuine posts of ACAB and defund the police lines in the past few days. Either FBI Agents or Antifa are trying to use disinformation tactics to get us to fight off the police.
Let me explain who I am first, I am a college student who has a liberal sister, a based father, and a paranoid mother. My grandparents survived the Holocaust. Of course, I probably have enough history in my posts to figure out who I am and I bet you that the FBI could figure me out in a couple of hours. My goal is to apply a little bit of non-anonymity to try and build credit I am not an member of those groups.

Let me be clear, three years ago, I got into a really bad car accident. Some cops were really helpful with me in resolving things out. I had a lot of adrenaline in my system and they helped work things out. I was also friendly with the cop at my high school. My high school class president got an internship working with police (we had a weird program for getting high school internships), mostly doing paperwork and drive-alongs. He was real based and me and him would kind of talk a lot.
These are all good stories about police officers. There’re more good stories about police officers than bad ones. Stories of police saving peoples lives, catching thieves and criminals, etc. The truth is that you don’t hear about the good, you hear about the bad and with COVID-19 police are forced to enforce mask mandates.
The criticism of the “just doing my job” line is that the idea that those who are doing the job are doing major sins. People yelled at nazi soldiers who knowingly killed Jewish people and put them in the gas chamber and tried to play it off as doing their job. Excessive force like tazing someone for not wearing a mask is a problem, do not get me wrong, but it is a problem with that cop in particular. Some departments also have internal issues with punishing officers due to heavy paperwork and administrative costs.
There’re problems with holding police accountable, but you don’t really become a police officer if you really don’t want to serve. Why would you put your life on a life for a job that barely pays and is thankless? Some say it is because of power and they are stupid, but if you wanted power and aren’t smart enough to become a businessman, why wouldn’t you become a politician, instead?
Look, to summarize: most cops are good folk, some cops and police departments can suck. Don’t hate them for enforcing the stupid laws politicians write. Focus on the real enemy. Talk with cops who probably have more perspective than me on how their entire system works and where changes could be made legally wise to make things more fair. Be part of the party of law and order.
Yes i have met some good cops. But ive also met some lying motherfucking scumbags. Have you ever read a police report about something you were involved in and its basically made up bullshit? You have a lot to learn about the world apparently
How many bad cops have you interacted with. Personally. How many cops are out there in your community. One bad cop is a terrible thing. Have you tried to build community relations with your local LEO? Try it. Build relations and build trust. Then the bad ones stand out and you will be heard by friends, not some guy with a badge.
Let me think. 4 or 5. Maybe the same amount of good ones. I been arrested a lot. Correctional officers are even worse. Some of them are just straight up sadists. Oh also one of my exes is a cop. Her husband is a detective. He is a good guy. But generally, fuck cops. Write me a ticket or take me to fucking jail and go the fuck away, I have no use for them

Have you actually ever talked to your local authorities? Most of them are great guys... there're actually a bunch of LEOs on this site. It is a tough job and you are bound to make mistakes.
Police are an arm of the government and will do what they are told. They will not fight with us when the time comes, they will arrest us, take our guns or whatever else they are ordered to do.
That being said, they are a necessary evil. They should not be praised for just being a cop no should they be attacked just for being a cop.
Why should they? Not their job. Not their remit. Constitution says that particular remit is yours and mine. And not a "necessary evil". Fuck off with that commie shit.

Some police will not break the law, they will try to fight enforcing taking common citizens guns from within their department, similar to how Kamala’s department refused to release black people and the government of California couldn’t do shit about it.
Talk with your local police chief/sheriff and discuss this as a concern. There is a reason why America is organized as states and counties.

Cops do need to follow the law. Yes. So do we. Or at least comply when we get arrested, lol.
When I was in, nobody tolerated a bad cop. Fuck that noise. Hell, we got an entire department shut down because of that shit. My family is out there every day, trying to do good and make a difference. They support kids and help needy families. Hell, we had a major food drive a few weeks ago with more in the works. Talk to your local law enforcement in your community. See what you can do to encourage community relations like that. It works.

I'm gonna say something you maybe aren't going to like. Cops aren't lawyers. They see something, they act, hopefully respectfully and/or with appropriate force. Right or wrong, the courts are where you do the law thing. Just be respectful, comply, lawyer up if needed (keeping your mouth shut) and fight in court. Shit, I'm a white dude and had the talk with my dad (a cop) and with my kids (me a cop).
I love cops. Was one. Some in my family still are. Most of us served in the military. But calling out bad cops is a good thing. They make us all look bad.

I am not sure about that, if you are going to be putting your life on the line to do your job, you need a very strong morale reason to do so. There're bad apples, but I am not sure you can say it based on age.

Cops are just people. I personally know a good cop and a shit cop. (The latter was an Oathkeeper, but I don't let that color my perception of the Oathkeepers either.) There are cops in one nearby town that are hated by the rest of the LEOs in the county.
Of the tens of thousands of cops in the country, of course there's tons of shitters among them. It would be the same for any given population and it would be unrealistic to expect otherwise.

Im 53 years old never been to a rally or anything political all my years. July 4th this year I woke up and said enough is enough. I went and stood on a street corner all by myself with a homemade sign. Backing the blue. I live in a very liberal state. I didnt care. I will continue to back them.
