The Brave on-boarding experience is really great. It allows you to migrate all your chrome data in on-click, and supports multiple profiles. It's built on Chromium, so its basically the exact same thing as Chrome without all the garbage.

Brave's CEO is Brendan Eich, the man who created javascript. He was fired from Firefox and blacklisted from silicon valley for donating to conservative and traditional marriage political campaigns in California. He's an OG big-tech cancel victim.

From the NYT:

Supporters of the Brave project have recently used the company’s Reddit page to express concern about Mr. Eich’s outspoken views about the virus, with some suggesting he should give up his role as C.E.O.

β€œHe was asked to leave Mozilla because he couldn’t keep his right-wing opinions to himself,” one user on Reddit wrote. β€œNow he’s doing the same thing at the helm of Brave.”

I really like Brave.

But I get memory leaks on some computers. It also bogs down my phone.

Extensions don't work so well with it either.

Still a great browser and I like getting paid crypto for ads and being able to spread crypto to my favorite content providers.

I knew about his ousting from Mozilla for his donations to traditional marriage. I did not know until now that he's also gotten static for questioning the shamdemic. This man gets more based the more I hear about him.

I want to use brave, but coming from Firefox there's so little customization. No bookmark dropdown menu, no configurable layout, no quick change search engine (you can type a prefix in the search bar, but that's not convenient for quickly searching the same thing using multiple engines.
