If patriots.win was based off of Reddit, then yes patriots.win IS Reddit.
A codebase as mature as Android (and Reddit) will easily have 100,000+ source code files. Just because Google (and Reddit) are no longer modifying the codebase doesn't mean all of their features have been removed once the code has been forked.
It is very possible that there are legacy features within LineageOS that still contact Google servers.
I'm downloading the LineageOS 18.1 source code from GitHub now and the zip file is 500MB and growing.
Note that this zip contains only text files... (no fancy .docx files or anything)
Edit: download finished at 811MB and it contains 38,448 files
