The phone thing is by far the biggest challenge on this list. There could be a whole nother thread dedicated to how to pull that off.
I mean if you really think about it, the only reason you'd need a Apple/Google phone is for the support for all the apps and games. A Linux phone will run calls/SMS/web browser just fine, and GPS will still work for maps and navigation.
Do what I'm doing. I'm deep sixing my iPhone, replacing it with a Punkt phone, and buying a tablet for home use. You keep in line with tech trends without carrying around tracking device.
Also: cellphone goes in a Faraday Bag when not in use.

GPS receiver? What about maps data and navigation? Garmin gets maps from Here (msft) and, probably, they are also woke.
That's what I'm saying. GPS will run just fine. I'm sure there are open source/non-woke maps out there.
Who cares about a devoted GPS receiver? All it does is track when you ask it to. Your phone is tracking you all the time.
