After having Covid and being 65 and over, I could tell you I felt the intracranial pressure, and I felt the respiratory center located at the base of the brain was compromised. normally your body has involuntary respirations and I felt that they were suppressed, and I’ve seen it in patients where they just stopped normal breathing and they didn’t have compromised lung function, meaning, there was no congestion or fluid in the lungs but the breathing just wasn’t there, it was very reduced, and also an induced sleep to the point of not wanting to wake up to eat or consume any nutrition, so I really believe it is very neurological. When I force these people to wake up their oxygenation returned to normal and they would be functionable and able to eat until they slip back into the coma like sleep. The staff in the nursing home would send them out because they can’t be doing this constantly trying to keep them awake to function. And good luck getting people to wake you up in the hospital, Remember there’s no family members there to nurse you.
