Once news of a Third Party sounds, the establishment Republican party will immediately bull horn that this cannot work. We shouldn't play their game.
If a true third party is going to succeed, then they need to start by winning in two categories: local/state races and jungle primaries, and NOT running any national presidential races (to start). A third party needs to create a winning feeling among voters while building trust and brand (which could take years).
For national races you sell your voting block for specific legislation (similar to unions) to the party that is focused on courting your voters, even not voting in the national race if neither party are seen as adequate. As the party builds and collects more power locally, that is when you open up candidates for nation races, starting with Congress, then the senate, and finally when you have enough power, the presidency.
GEOTUS has formally distanced himself from 3rd Party efforts. Until he says something, i am not interested. Way too expensive: all 50 States have different rules for fling...and you know from the way they jacked Kanye around, they can change the rules to suit themselves; No one but GEOTUS has the ability to galvanize the numbers necessary for success.
With our current system, a third party won't succeed because the Dems and Reps (aka the Uniparty) will collude with each other to keep the 3rd party candidate off debate stages and even ballots. Of course, any third party that is based on conservative principles and MAGA doctrine will now be banned from social media, as well as from banking and ecommerce, effectively ending their ability to communicate with, and raise money from, regular Americans.

That, I believe, is the TEA Party strategy.
